“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me." John 14:1 As I came across this verse, I was reminded of the times when my grandfather who say, "trust me" as he led me to try something that I have never done before. He was always so good to explain things to me and prepare me for tasks or opportunities I had never experienced. He was so meticulous in his guiding and teaching, but I wasn't always so eager to trust him nor take him at his word about what he thought I could do or accomplish.
At the end of my grandfather's teaching or preparing me, I would come to the part I was responsible for...choosing to trust him and his assessment of what I could do or the choice to not trust him. I wish I could say I was perfect in trusting him each time, even though in hindsight, he was always right. I catch myself even to struggle to trust God in much the same ways. Each moment, each day and in each challenge or situation we face we have the choice to trust God's guiding and leading. I wonder what areas in your current life situation you have choice to trust God. He has more than proven His trustworthiness time and time again. Will you choose to trust Him today? |
